So, if you know me, I am a little quirky. Okay, well maybe I am a lot a bit quirky, but there is one thing in my life that I am very, very picky about, and that is my planner. I always have problems at the beginning of the school years finding exactly what I want. What I am looking for in a planner is:
- Must be 8 1/2″ x 11″ or larger
- Have both months and weeks
- Have tabs for each month
- be spiral bound
- Have plastic covers
- and Be cute
- and be cheap
I cannot tell you how difficult it is to find a good planner that fits all of these criteria. If a planner is cute, it’s generally tiny. Most of the larger planners are for people in business situations, so they aren’t cute. Even if there was a large planner that was cute, they are usually the reusable leather ones and cost upwards of $50 at least.
Needless to say, none of that works for me, so this year, I made my own, personalized, color-able planner.
it took a little bit of time to get it done, but I think it turned out really well!
I printed mine using Staples online (and no, I did not get any kind of discount or free anything for posting this), but they did have a 20% discount deal at the time! In total, I printed my planner for $17.30. The breakdown is below:
B&W Print Both Sides ($0.20/pg) 84 Pgs. $16.70
Black Vinyl Cover ($0.29) 1 Pg. $0.29
Black Coil Binding ($2.99) 1 $2.99
SUBTOTAL: $19.98
20% Discount:-$4.00
Final Total: $17.30
Isn’t that just the coolest? I couldn’t buy any kind of planner for that! I’m attaching my PDF that you can edit however you like!
EDIT: Here is a JPG of the cover page without my name. You should be able to open this file in Picasa (my personal choice) or PowerPoint and add in your name! Thanks to Brandi for bringing it up! Enjoy!
Here is also a “One Day Per Week” Version for those of you “going green” and planning on laminating! Thanks again Angela for the idea!
Thanks so much for sharing! I’ve been on the hunt for a GREAT planner for my ARC! And, I believe this will do the trick! Thanks!
This looks awesome! One question: after downloading, how can I edit it to say my name instead of yours?
Great question, I hadn’t even thought about that! Haha! I will try to upload an editable word file today or tomorrow! Thanks for the comment!
I wish this was in half page size I really l really love it! But my planner is 5.5 x 8.5 do you have it this size too??????
If you open adobe reader, go to file–>print and under page size & handling, select multiple, pages per sheet, 2. That should make it the right alive for your planner
Thanks I will try that!
I hope you are still checking messages on this page… I absolutely love this planner. I’m looking for a whole month on one vertical 8.5″x11″ page. Any thoughts on how I can modify your files to fit? Thank you for sharing your hard work!
I can try to make you one. I have gone back to school so I am a little busy, but I will try to get one up this week! Thanks for the feedback!
What program are you using? I might be able to do it too (not as well as you- haha). Good luck in school. Both of my kids are studying with you.
I use a combination of publisher and PowerPoint! Good luck to your kids!
this is so great.. love the planner. but any chance u’re doing an updated version with the whole of 2014?
I will try, I’m having some computer problems and I’m in college, but I will try to get one ready before the end of December.
dear hope… bless your soul… thank you!
This is super cute! I am going to school, too, so I know how much time that takes. Would it be easier to make an undated one? Just an idea, as I’m not sure what work that would entail. Thanks!
It would be a whole lot easier to make an undated one, the problem is that is less functional
I look forward to 2014 as well 🙂
do you have one available for 2016?
