Menu Planning

So, I’m starting to become more independent now as I am moving out. One of the best organization tools I found was from my sister, and it was the way she planned her meals for the whole week. It kept her and her family from unnecessarily spending money going out to eat, and helped them to eat healthier.

After I saw her’s, I decided to make my own, just the way I wanted. You can divide the four columns into meat/dairy, frozen, fresh, and pantry, or just make one long run-on list.

Obviously, the boxes at the top are for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day of the week. I hope this helps you stay organized and stay on track with your healthy eating!

I love my computer!

I really do love my laptop. I got it when I graduated high school two years ago, and it has become like an extension of myself. One of my favorite things to do is personalize my computer with different backgrounds. It’s so easy, and it makes such a difference to the look and feel of your computer if you change them every season. I like both the calmer, beach hues, and the bright summer fun colors, so today, I give you both! Enjoy!

So, if you know me, I am a little quirky. Okay, well maybe I am a lot a bit quirky, but there is one thing in my life that I am very, very picky about, and that is my planner. I always have problems at the beginning of the school years finding exactly what I want. What I am looking for in a planner is:

  • Must be 8 1/2″ x 11″ or larger
  • Have both months and weeks
  • Have tabs for each month
  • be spiral bound
  • Have plastic covers
  • and Be cute
  • and be cheap

I cannot tell you how difficult it is to find a good planner that fits all of these criteria. If a planner is cute, it’s generally tiny. Most of the larger planners are for people in business situations, so they aren’t cute. Even if there was a large planner that was cute, they are usually the reusable leather ones and cost upwards of $50 at least.

Needless to say, none of that works for me, so this year, I made my own, personalized, color-able planner.

it took a little bit of time to get it done, but I think it turned out really well!

I printed mine using Staples online (and no, I did not get any kind of discount or free anything for posting this), but they did have a 20% discount deal at the time! In total, I printed my planner for $17.30. The breakdown is below:

B&W Print Both Sides ($0.20/pg)    84 Pgs.    $16.70

Black Vinyl Cover ($0.29)                   1 Pg.         $0.29

Black Coil Binding ($2.99)                    1             $2.99

SUBTOTAL: $19.98

20% Discount:-$4.00

Final Total:  $17.30

Isn’t that just the coolest? I couldn’t buy any kind of planner for that! I’m attaching my PDF that you can edit however you like!
